Illuminating at a New Home in McLean
In new construction, landscape lighting is often an afterthought, even if the landscape design is quite beautiful. We were called in to redesign the landscape lighting at a new home in McLean, VA, to do a better job of highlighting natural stonework and colorful planting beds around the house.
We installed downlighting on a dry river bed leading through one side of the property and installed handcrafted copper hanging lights along a pathway to the backyard. In the homeowner’s zen garden, we illuminated large boulders and installed a steel bollard for additional interest. And, along a three-tier retaining wall, we applied lighting to shadow a large magnolia tree while enhancing the beauty of the ornamental trees on each level.
