Bridging Modern and Natural in Forest Hills

The leafy Northwest DC neighborhood of Forest Hills is an amazing setting for modern architecture, and this extraordinary modern home deserved extraordinary landscape lighting. The client requested a subtle, well-balanced lighting design to both highlight the modern design of the home, and create a warm, subtle transition to the surrounding landscape.

In front, we installed small, modern path lights along the linear pathway from the street to the front door, while applying uplighting to the ornamental trees in the yard.

Out back where a large, gently sloping backyard provides an amazing view of the rear facade of the house, we applied uplighting to both the ornamental trees and some of the mature canopy trees. And, we installed a strip of LED tape lights along both sides of a beautiful floating bridge that connected the pool area at the immediate rear of the home to the back of the property.
